Welcome to a platform of grace and mercy licking on this platform means you are a compassionate minded person. Once again you are welcome. Fjinitiatives is a mandate and a passion I derive from my ministerial experience. It is something I have held dearly for years. Even at the early stage of my ministry, I experienced and saw helplessness in the lives of many, which made me start helping with housing and financing the needy even when I had little, without knowing why I was doing so.
I remember helping someone with my house rent, and when it was time to pay my landlord, there was no money and I was thrown out. I considered this a big mistake, but I saw myself doing it again and again, knowing the consequences of my actions and suffering for it. I questioned my actions many times, but it seemed I had no control over it until I started enjoying it, even in praying for people instead of praying for myself.
One day I sat down with a big thought about what I was doing. Then I discovered I was putting people first before my needs. I remember going into a church to pray and planned all I was going to tell God, but while on my knees, I started praying for people I didn’t know. Before I realised, the prayer had ended, and I remembered I was supposed to pray for my rent.
My ministry started in Amsterdam where I began to define my calling as a minister. I saw I was a compassionate preacher, a motivator, an intercessor, and a writer. One day I had a dream where a man visited me and we were going somewhere I knew. We took a car but came out of a plane in a remote area filled with poor people of all kinds, and I was heartbroken.
I turned to the man I was with — he looked wealthy and rich — and I asked him to do something about it. To my surprise, he said, “No, you do something about it. That is why I brought you here.” But I replied, “I have nothing.” He insisted I do something.
That was when it dawned on me that God will not do anything for man because He has given man authority on earth to do whatever is right (Genesis 1:26–28). As Jesus said in Matthew 10:1–3, the responsibility is ours.
The Lord’s Fortified City Ministries has the commission and mandate to restore the broken vessel through the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In line with this commission, we derived the name “Solution Centre.” As part of the ministry, we have the responsibility of providing basic necessities of life for those in need.
This has been my day-to-day work as a minister, pastoring a local church called The Lord’s Fortified City, which started in Amsterdam on 11 February 2000. The church has been and is still saddled with the responsibility of rehabilitating drug addicts, prostitutes, and others through the Word of God.
This action prompted us to start providing accommodation for the homeless, food for the hungry (especially stranded travellers and illegal immigrants). Today we have provided accommodation, and helped start small businesses for the jobless. What we have been doing unofficially, we are now making official so that more people can be part of this vision. God bless.
